Genesis are honoured to have worked with photographer Aneesa Dawoojee on her exhibition Only Human at The Royal Photographic Society in Bristol, producing Direct to Media UV prints on Dibond, Tray Frames and C-type prints.
Aneesa Dawoojee is a South London based portrait and social documentary photographer whose interest in community, resilience, hope and social discussion has seen her work recognised by the media, funding bodies and the photography world.
Only Human showcases two bodies of work. The Fighting Spirit of South London reveals strength, resilience, fortitude and hope to overcome life’s challenges through images of martial artists and combat sports athletes from gyms near Dawoojee’s home, as well as previously unseen work from her new series March of the Humming Birds.
Her new work tells the story of the Caribbean community in the UK with a view to share its rich history. It is a colourful and often joyous story of a multicultural community who are keen to share their stories of adventure, love, and hopes for the children in Britain.
Only Human is Dawoojee’s first solo exhibition at the RPS, awarded after her success in the RPS International Photography Exhibition 163.
